Shrinks hate to put patients on benzos when there near Crazy with anxierty, they would sooner send you home with an AD that may help in three months time. Yet more die from AD overdose than anywhere near benzos. Feeling wired to the national grid and about to self distuct , someone could pop 20 mg ativan or 10mg xanax and what happens they fall into a deep sleep but wake up 2 days later with a massive handover.Take 20 effexor tabs and you dont wake up at all if not found , even if found the damage to your internal organs are behond repair.Even a massive dose of parasetamol kills you. Yet they quote addiction and they dont want that, ok we dont want to dive under a bus with anxierty so give us something now that will stop that , and they will do just that, if you have never taken a ativan before 2MG and you will forget your pain. only tempory mind, but thats what we need at the time a quick and powerful fix, we cant worry about the rest later. now we can go home on the bus instead of under it.

When I came in with acute serious anxiety, my pdoc gave me a benzo to help until the ad calmed me. Using a benzo infrequently or over the short-term can be helpful, but they do cause bad withdrawal and the body gets used to it so you need more and more to get the same effect. If you're that anxious, have you considered non-medication routes to calm yourself?

No im sound on benzos been on same 4mg years, If i stopped i would withdraw worse and longer than your EFFEXOR withdrawl ,remember i have done that two, and i dont want to go through either again so im staying put .Plus there are no real side effects on benzos , no weight gain, sex probs, constipation, just a little dizzy now and then. in fact i would love to ditch my AD and just take a couple more benzo,s but all the shrinks and GPs say NNNNNO .
Thanks for this!

My shrink trusts me with benzos. I guess I'm fortunate, as it really helps kill the anxiety. During the periods when I'm feeling especially anxious, I take Neurontin, which is not a benzo. It seems to help in calming some of the anxiety. As for the klonipin, I use it strictly as directed...1/2 to 1 mg. as needed. I know folks can develop a greater dependence on them if used in higher dosages for an extended period of time.

Thousands have that type of script , take when needed. I take 120MG ativan a month not many would get that script. I mean i am not craveing more they still work well after many years yet they still try to get me off. stop the ativan now an whatch me die in withdwal i will not go through that again at 65 i have done 2 major withdrawls only to be back where i started, so whats the point i ask.
