Have any of you noticed an increase or decrease in energy on Lexapro?

I didn't notice any difference, but I was taking a number of meds at the same time, anyway. Since it's an anti-depressant, then I would think it might be more likely to give people more energy, as it helps to lift depression. Is that what you are finding?

I'm on several different meds, too, but think lexapro is the best anti-depressant I've ever taken. I haven't noticed any adverse side-effects.
Thanks for this!

I found lexapro to be very helpful in evening out my energy. It was a rough start until we found the right dose, but it's been quite helpful overall!

Could I ask what dose issues you had & what worked out for you? I am starting it tomorrow. I've done well on Zoloft and Viibryd, but we're trying to find something that doesn't cause me as many side effects. I'm trying to remain hopeful.

i did well on zoloft for years then tappered straight over in 1 day to lexapro when zoloft started to fail. lexapro is a better med but side effects are worse to me than zoloft , but side effects are part of the course in AD,s i only take 10mg

I was very impressed with the increase in energy that I got on Lexapro. But the side effects were too hard to cope with. Each person's body is different so good luck.
Thanks for this!

@pbutton - we started at 2.5 mg a day and over the course of about 8 months, we built up to my landing dose of 15mg. We tried to go up faster at one point, but it made me sick to my stomach and I felt like I was going to rip my skin off. The slow and steady increase really paid off, as it has been a great med for me now.

8 months for a med to work, I would have pulled my eyes out. Well done to you, I started at 20mg an dropped to 10mg so I could still have sex with my wife.

I am probably gonna start on 5mg and go to 10mg. I am very fatigued so hoping it will lift my energy.
