"I have been taking 400 mg of Seroquel and 300 mg of Wellbutrin for several months now, but recently, I heard whispers in my head that continued even after I covered my ears :P
I also thought part of my bed had turned into a black dog that wanted to bite me. This has never happened to me before, and I've had a weird feeling since. I can't stop thinking about it. I told my psychologist but while I was telling her I suddenly got this... feeling. Like the pressure in the room had dropped and I could float or fall apart. I was shaking and it was so hard to speak. I get that floaty feeling from time to time but never that bad. I've been feeling vaguely depressed and I've been isolating, too. Does anyone know if the Seroquel caused the auditory hallucination? And if it did, why haven't I ever experienced that before? I've been taking this dose for quite awhile." I wrote the above about a week ago but I'm still reeling from the experience :/ I take Seroquel for Bipolar NOS but like I said, I've never had that experience before. I'm feeling more normal, less depressed, but I'm still desperate for advice. |

Sorry you are having such problems. I haven't taken Seroquel so can't help you about the symptoms but be sure and tell you prescribing doctor about these things that are going on with you. Good luck.

I have struggled with auditory, visual and olfactory hallucinations (flashbacks) most all my life.
I was diagnosed with (Complex) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was placed on Seroquel and Effexor early on in my treatment process. Later I was taken off those and placed on Wellbutrin. Now I'm not on any medications. I don't think the medications had an effect one way or the other. I do know that getting away from the abuse I grew up in, and by making significant lifestyle changes that reduced the amount of stress in my life did though. I still have them occasionally, but not near as many as I did, and they don't disrupt my life as bad as they used to. It's more like a gentle reminder of what can happen to my mind if I don't take care of myself. ![]() |

Welcome to Psych Central! I took Seroquel, but I never had any hallucinations. Have you read that it can cause such effects as you describe? If you can't get any satisfaction anywhere else, then maybe a pharmacist might be able to tell you something.

Seroquel doesn't seem to have psychosis/hallucinations listed as a side effect, but it would be best to check with your prescribing doctor.
Sorry I'm not really much help. Love the username by the way! x |
