Has this happened to anyone else? I have bpd and I have been binge eating for the last 6 years and I pretty much have taken Prozac and boom it's gone! I mean I used to wake up in the middle of the night just to eat every night my family had to hide food from me because I would eat it but now all those thoughts are gone. Plz let me know your experiences on this and has this happened to you? Is this because I'm bpd?

I know one person who couldn't eat anything on Prozac

that's why they don't take it anymore

but not eating in the middle of the night could be a good thing
Thanks for this!

Prozac can definitely suppress your appetite. For example, I'm on prozac (20mg) and since I started taking it (beginning of May 2013) I lost seven pounds. I definitely don't eat as much as I used to....
I've heard that it can also make some people gain weight too. I guess it depends on the individual person....
Thanks for this!

I think that Prozac seems to help obsessive thinking, which may be why your appetite has been affected. It also makes some people slightly nauseous at first, and that can go away in a few weeks.

I noticed you too have bpd...see maybe its because we are bpd that it makes us slow down on cravings? What do you think?

I don't think that losing your appetite is a symptom of bpd (though it is for depression which can sometimes coexist with bpd)...
it's probably just the depression and/or the meds... but I'm no doctor

Its bad news really but , I lost weight at the start of Prozac 30 years ago, its a honeymoon period. A few months in the weight will come , Prozac is working fully at this time and you get a little careless with the food , if you are happier you eat more . But Prozac like all SSRI,S change your hole body if on a year and more. like the guy who posted this gem you chose vanity or insanity.

I remember gaining weight while on Prozac, though I found it to be something I welcomed at the time, since I was underweight at the time due to just having no appetite. I'm getting back on it right now, on a higher dosage, though now I have to watch what I eat since going to my last doctor's appointment revealed that I'm borderline overweight now.
