Hello everyone!
I started taking Vyvanse at the beginning of last week. I don't have ADHD,it was prescribed by my psychiatrist for the lethargy and tiredness I was feeling due to my depression. I was excited to start taking it because I thought that it was going to help me stay awake during the day while working, but I think it's actually making me more tired then I was in the first place. I can definitely tell when the "crash" happens, usually around 5ish, if I'm home I have to take a nap. I was so upset the first day when I took it because I did not feel alert and awake like I thought I would. I was taking Wellbutrin before and I did feel a difference the first 2 days but then it was gone and I was getting pretty dizzy and lightheaded. Has anyone else had the same experience with Vyvanse that I had? If my doc increased my dosage, would it make me feel better, or just even more tired (if that's possible)? I'm so tired of being tired! |

It is a twelve hour time release stimulant. What time are you taking it? Some people can become tired as the med wears off.

I take it in the morning usually around 10:30 or so. I haven't had any problems with sleeping or anything though.

I took Vyvanse several years ago, too, to increase my energy level. It worked for awhile. But then I started becoming exhausted after taking it. It felt like I was crashing from drinking a pot of espresso. I was exhausted and jittery at the same time. My theory is that Vyvanse was too much of a stimulant for me. My body responded by trying to slow itself down, hence the exhaustion. I would feel okay when I woke up, but 20 minutes after taking the Vyvanse I was exhausted. So I went off of it. Since then I was never as tired as before. I think it change my brain structure or something.
