Hello everyone!

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Does anyone have experience with the medication Geoden?

I currently take 40mg at night, is that a large dose?

Does anyone feel that it, or other antipsychotics, effect you creatively?

Thank You,

Brontoset

hi........that is a baby dose of geodon...i take 120mg at night and have seen people who take more than that. i believe 120 is the therapuetic dose because i was on 80 and the doc jacked it up to 120 saying so.

i have been on lots of AP's and dont feel any do anything for my creativity. i believe people feel they stifle creativity because when you are manic you are loads of creative and the AP's keep you from being manic thus lowering your ability to be creative.

Compared to mania, Geodon sapped the creativity right out of me but for me. it's better than being manic as well as psychotic

Sapped the creativity right out of you? What do you mean?

Basically the only reason I take these meds is because my sponsor tells me to

I'm an artist and struggle to create any art due to lack of creativity. Like I said in a previous post, I take Geodon because I get manic as well as pychotic. When I'm manic my creativity soars. On meds, not so much. Sure, my creativity is affected but for me I'd rather be stable in the long run than in constant distress.

Med adjustment and weighing the pros and cons of taking a particular med is key in your overall well being.

Well, when I got sober I began to feel more creative than ever before. But I'm worried that my meds are undoing that.
