Does anyone have experience drinking herbal tea (like Acai) with an anti anxiety medication like Lorazepam?

oh, lol. Good point. That's why I asked. Acai is an herb and the prescription bottle says not to take any herbal supplements with the med. But I couldn't ask the prescription bottle if that includes the tea version of Acai. So I asked here. I appreciate your response.

Acai professional information from Drugs.com

this places says there's no interactions.

Btw... does no herbs go also for spices? Ginger is a stimulant for example and quite potent one (and can cause short term hallucinations and weed-like high in high doses). Rosemary, oregano, basil, majoram... all have psychoactive properties. Cinnanom has psychoactive properties too.

Doesn't mean that eating chicken provance style is gonna kill you, eh. I don't wanna scare anybody, but this "absolutelly no herbals on meds" would mean you that you would have to have very disgusting diet while on meds.

Thanks Venus! I'm not sure about the spices, that's something to think about. I definitely did not know that about Ginger.

Lol @ disgusting diet. I suppose moderation the best guideline. I will ask my Doctor for specifics re: interactions when I can. The whole point is to enjoy life again.

Acai is probably fine, its essentially a berry with lots of nutrients and things that are good for you. It would be like drinking pomegranate juice with meds, probably not going to interact too much. I think with an anti-anxiety med the main thing to watch out for is sedating herbs, not to say you can't so much as have a cup of chamomille tea while taking it but you should be careful with any sedating herbs while taking it. Also stimulant type herbs in large quanaties might more or less counteract the effects.

If it is a benzo apparently grapefruit can increase sedating effects for some reason, but yeah I don't think I can entirely avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking valium so I'll just limit my intake, plus I don't take the valium every day...just if I need it for anxiety.
Thanks for this!
