Does anyone else have an abnormally high average resting heart rate while on adderall? Does this worry you? Mine is usually in the high 90s and I left my pdoc a message about something related to a new medication he prescribed me, and brought up how my average resting heart rate is usually in the high 90s and how when I work out it can get up to 180, then recovery is at about 150... and he told me I'm probably working out too hard (which I don't feel like I am) and how that my average resting heart rate is something of concern to him, (but he didn't really say much after that).

Anyway... I guess why I'm asking is because I'm wondering if this is normal for my heart rate to be so high? I know the drug is a stimulant and therefore increases your heart rate, but is high 90s TOO high for average RESTING heart rate? In the past I've taken my pulse at night (after the adderall has pretty much warn off) and my heart rate then is usually 75-85.

Adderall is an amphetamine so a high heart speed is normal for this med. That's been my experience.

I was on stimulants and it raised my heart rate so high that I stopped. I was at 240 bpm (when exercising) and my pdoc said that anything above that is dangerously high... I would talk to your pdoc if it doesn't get better. Sometimes side effects ease with time, some don't.

Oh and my resting heart rate was about 90 as well, on stimulants. That's not bad... It's how high it gets when u exercise or do something strenuous that u should keep an eye on

Adderall raises my heart rate. It mostly raises it when I am adjusting to a new dose. My resting heart rate is about 80 on 45mg of Adderall, but when I just started taking 45mg (I was previously on a lower dose), it was about 95. After I had adjusted to it more, it came down eventually. That is a serious concern with adderall though.

Yes it is. I'm not trying to scare anyone but adderall was banned in canada for causing heart attacks. It's not the safest stimulant out there for some people.
