New pdoc took me off Xanax and put me on Klonopin - whoa! Still trying to adjust to it. Says she'll lower the dose when she thinks I'm ready. She also is weaning me off the trazodone, which the old pdoc had me on at night for sleeping, and adding a low dose of Prozac, which she plans to gradually increase. I was on Prozac before and it really worked for me, so I'm hoping that once again it will ease my depression.

Good luck! I just changed from Ativan to Klonopin and it's been a great change!

Good to hear that! Was there an adjustment period to the Klonopin?

I had to switch from Effexor and Trazodone to Olanzapine(zyprexa), valium and still taking trazodone for sleep sometimes. Seems to be a better combo, though I think the zyprexa is making me kinda drowsy hope that effect wears off or maybe more caffeine in the morning will work.

No. I just went straight from one to the other. Klonopin takes a bit longer to work, but the effects are also longer lasting. Plus, it's stronger.

in England they would want you on a year before tapering off, for fear of relapse.
