Have you ever had alcohol while you've been on Lamictal? I've been titrating for the past month or so and am currently at 200mg. I like to have the occasional drink, but I haven't had one since I started because I was told not to mix it with anything. I've looked it up and people have reported mixed experiences with it, but what deters me from ever trying it is the potential of lessening the effect of Lamictal.

When I first started taking lamictal and drank on it, it actually made me much less reactive when I was drunk. I can get extremely anxious while inebriated, or even just buzzed. Lamictal evened me out, drunk and sober. xD

But yeah, I don't recommend it. Actually, after the past couple of days that I have drank, I was met with anxiety the day of and especially the day after I drank, I am done for the next few months. I am also on my 6th week of prozac, I believe it is beginning to help, and I DO NOT want to 'wash it out' of my system as people claim alcohol does. I'm beginning to question even alcohol's insidious effects from just mild drinking.

Being happy, depression and anxiety free is a lot more fun than being drunk!! So stay off the alcohol with me for awhile. At least don't drink until lamictal's full effect is felt, so you can know whether or not it truly works for you. Causing lamictal to not work because you were drinking could lead you to ditch a med that could have been extremely helpful. If you are being helped by lamictal and it loses its effectiveness after you drink, then you know to cut the alcohol.

It is definitely helping so far! I don't think I will ever drink again so long as I'm on Lamictal haha.

I have not drank in a long time. Just my opinion but I think mixing meds with alcohol is a bad idea--I would not want to take the risk...D.
