I'm just curious. Has anyone successfully replaced Seroquel IR with anything? I need something to help me sleep and stop my auditory hallucinations (but that doesn't happen unless I'm stressed) , but my PCP wants me to stop taking Seroquel for whatever reason. My PCP is in the same office as my Pdoc. He says I need to lose some weight, (yes I know I got into a debate on gaining and losing weight on meds in a different thread) and says Seroquel essentially has slowed my metabolism to a crawl. Any suggestions? I'm on 600mg of IR and I've been on Seroquel for about one year so far.

Thanks.

Dillpickle, I take 400mg of seroquel. I don't seem to have the weight side effect and it works with my hallucinations. Well, I also take haldol with it to help with the hallucinations. Maybe they could cut your Seroquel back instead of completely eliminating it? Then you'd also get the sleep aid properties of it. Just a thought...everybody is different....D.

I don't have a weight gain issue with seroquel, but my PCP feels that seroquel will inhibit weight loss. I'm weight neutral with seroquel.
