Anyone take these meds? Do they help or not help for depression, sleep, anxiety and overall mood? I'm currently on 8 mg of Risperdal at night and 50 mg of Zoloft during the day.

I used to take Risperdol. The my pdoc switched to Invega. I have paranoid schizophrenia, and the Invega really helps me. I would say that it does not help with depression. I take celexa for that. Hell, just give me a cocktail. lol
I have never taken Zoloft.

I've taken them both, many years ago though so my memory about them is fairly vague. The zoloft is for depression. The risperdal is for more for thinking patterns/mood fluctuations. I'm pretty sure I was on a much lower dose of risperdal. Just give them some time and keep in touch with your doctor if you have any problems.
Thanks for this!

I take risperidal and Paxil. I have taken Zoloft in the past (but not in combination with risperidal) and it made me super crazy into what I can only describe as a hypomanic or manic episode. These two meds I'm on right now help but I've recently just had to have the doses adjusted because I started cutting and thinking everyone was out to get me again...

If you are BP the SSRIs (zoloft, paxil, celexa, etc.) and other ADs can cause manic episodes and/or agitation. You taking the risperdol for agitation? That's what it's used for (and/or psychosis, hallucinations).
