A woman friend is taking several antipsychotics. One being Zyprexa. She is taking a med for diabetes too. I realize there can be non med causes too.

You can and should research any new med online now days. I'd stick to real medical or drug review sites. Some forums like PC can be helpful in reading other's experiences but don't let it take the place of your doc's directions.

They can. Check the list of side affects for the specific medication that is being taken. Sometimes the itching will go away after a couple of days. Other times it can get quite severe. If in doubt check with the doctor or pharmacist.

hi. not to nit pick, but the available data suggests that -most- people do better on 1 tranquilizer, not 2+. more costs, adverse effects, drug-drug interactions. zyprexa for someone with diabetes seems...odd, to say the least. i had a friend once, he ended up in the hospital w/ zyprexa-induced metabolic problems. true story.

In my experience what you've described sounds like a withdrawal effect (from the Xanax). |
