Anyone have any experience with Lunesta? My pdoc is taking my Klonopin away from me () and having me try Lunesta. I honestly don't have very high hopes because nothing makes me sleep -- even Ambien pooped out on me after just 2 or 3 months. Ativan was helpful, but didn't do the trick like Klonopin which mixed with Seroquel gets me to sleep 7-9 hours straight (and no, Seroquel alone doesn't make me sleep at night, unfortunately).

Lunesta is really my favorite sleep med. Works well for me. Hope it helps you.

Hi. I took Lunesta for about 4 months. It worked initially but then was hit or miss. I have really good health insurance and even with the Lunesta discount card it was 165.00 a month. There is no generic version (or at least as of 12/12 there wasn't).
I'm on seroquel presently and that knocks me out).
Good luck.

Wow -- $165? I wound't be able to do that!

There is still no generic, but my insurance brings it down to $30/month, and my pharmacist told me that if I get the discount card, it will be totally covered. I hope that's true because that would bring my med cost down to $10/month rather than $40.

And the working initially thing? I know how that goes. That's how Ambien was for me.

I have taken Lunesta before and for me it was weaker than Ambien. It also puts a foul taste in your mouth.

Weaker than Ambien? That'll be a problem...

Yeah...problem! I took it 40 minutes ago and nothing. Yes, I'm tired...but I'm tired because I got about 3 hours of sleep last night and had an 8 hour work day. Hmph. Pdoc will be getting a call Friday or Monday if I can't sleep. Good thing I've still got some klonopin left as a last resort.

I also had the side effect of the bad metal taste it puts in your mouth. That was horrible I got to where I'd have to be really desperate to take it. Hope it works for you.

It's not working for me. At all. I probably shouldn't, but I'm not planning on taking it anymore...it doesn't put me to sleep OR keep me asleep.
