Started on 100mg of Topamax (50mg x2 per day)... I had the normal side effects like appetite suppresant, carbonated nastiness but that has all stopped. My PA even upped the dosaged to 200 mg per day. Pop tastes normal now, appetite has actually gotten stronger . I think it has pooped out. I don't know what to do. I also had a massive mood swing yesterday that came out of nowhere. I was calm cool and collective and then within 2 minutes I was ready to start throwing things... I ended up calming down with out an outburst but I haven't had such a swing in moods in months. I think I may be on the train to lamictal.

I started topamax two weeks ago at 100 mg a day can't stand the taste of carbonated drinks appetite suppressed which is good sleep pattern is messed up I get up at around 3 am can't go back to sleep so my pdocs upped it to 200 mg which I will start tomorrow

Oh yeah, you will stop drinking anything carbonated... don't even attempt a beer, trust me on that. Unfortunately all those negative or positive side effects depending on how you look at it have stopped all together for me.

OMG I was a beer drinker it taste flat an then it has this powerful after taste there goes the beer lol I have lost there pounds which is good cause I'm overweight from all the other pills for the bipolar thing so did to feel extra groggy after the topamax increase
