Hello:
Five weeks in on 10 mg of generic lexapro and not feeling
much change. Interested on how others are doing, and advice.

Have been on 2 other ad's, in and out of CBT therapy.

Hi there. 10mg didn't do the trick for me either. About a month ago we upped it to 20mg. Still not doing much. Not sure if I will stay on it.

I was on lexapro for 2-3 months and it didn't do the trick for me either so I got off it. CBT helped me a lot and was more effective and quicker than lexapro, but it definitely depends on the person. My sister has been through several ADs and still hasn't found one she can handle well or that is effective.

Lexapro best ssri there is , voted top in most med pages , next sertraline 10 mg lexapro should work , thats the same has 20mg citalopram

Thanks for info. I'm wondering if either the dose needs adjusted, supplemented with Deplin, or if ad's just don't work for me. Week 6 on lexapro and I've been on sertraline as well.

up the Lexapro to 20mg and give another 3 weeks. I was on 20mg before it worked,
was able later to drop to 10mg

Greetings.

Lexapro was a wonder drug for me. Didn't stay on 10mg for long, so I can't tell you how well that dosage worked. I was on 20mg for like, 4 years. Recently bumped to 30mg due to treatment resistant OCD.

Are you taking it for GAD, OCD, or both? I can tell you that especially for OCD, it's the higher doses that will do the trick. That's true of all SSRI's from my understanding. Take that with a grain of salt though, I'm no doc.

Don't give up on Lexapro until you've tried 20mg.

20mg is great , but it side effects were not for me no orgasm . 10mg still works for me an plus I can orgasm . That's the only reason I don't take 20mg

It worked for me and my pdoc added abilify....that was a year ago and dont remember why added abilify.
Side effects maybe?
Anyway not on it any longer. Not because it didn't work. Long story.
