I actually took Trileptal for facial pain. But I am now taking sort of a stronger version called Tegretol for Bipolar Disorder. I take it three times a day. 200 mg per capsule. It helps with my facial pain, too......

I've been on Trileptal for almost a decade. I am now getting off (in favor of Lithium). But I've taken as much as 600 mg (alongside 200 mg of Lamictal - so it never has been the primary drug to treat my bipolar II). I do have some anxiety problems and I noticed when I tried to get off it before that I struggled with anxiety (though we later discovered that my ADHD stimulant was provoking the anxiety, though 300 mg of Trileptal was effective in its treatment). Hope this helps.
Thanks for this!
