My pdoc wants me to go up to 450 mg of wellbutrin XL. For someone who's bipolar and also taking viibryd as an antidepressant, doesn't that seem like a high dose? I thought 300 mg was the standard dose . . . ?
Sorry I keep posting about wellbutrin so much lately, but I just want to get this cocktail right (and relief from my depression!) without having too much anxiety or going hypo. |

300 mg Wellbutrin is a typical dose for depression.
450 mg is the maximum dose, which quite a few people do take. Do not go higher. In your sig, it says you are on 150 mg Wellbutrin. Is that correct? If so, I would wonder why your pdoc wants you to go up to 450 mg. Why not try 300 mg Wellbutrin daily first?

Hi Newgal,
I was on welbutrin 150mg at first then my pdoc bumped it up to 300, but this was over a month or two. To go from 150mg to taking 300mg the next day, or 300 to 450, is way wrong. I eventually got off it because it was making my mind race and yeah, that was about it. |
