I have been trying to stop taking sedative Bromazepan. It has been prescribed for me for eight years now. Withdrawal causes a more severe depression than I am used to dealing with. Does anyone have any experience of this, please?

You should never stop a medication like this on your own. You need to talk to the doctor who is prescribing it and tell him or her that you want to get off. Going "cold turkey" can be dangerous.
