Doc told me to switch from Zoloft 150 mg to lexapro 20 mg. and I think he told me to just switch without still taking Zoloft. I'm terrified I will withdrawal from Zoloft. Had anyone done this. So worried please help.

My doctor just switched me from Wellbutrin XL to Prozac without tapering. So far so good. So it is not that unsual for a straight switch for one to another. Good luck with your change.

thank you for responding. ok so it is normal to do this? i am just so worried i didnt hear him correctly and what if he told me i was suppose to taper off and now i didnt. i am freaking myself out. i just dont want to feel bad or go through a withdrawl or something from the zoloft.

straight taper SSRIS , I have done that every time no start up side effects

Yes, I was a little concerned myself but it's still working out fine.

Maybe I worded that wrong , I said straight taper as straight from 1 to the other in a day. sorry

If in doubt, call your doctor's office and check to make sure.

A lot of docs make you withdraw the full term , ENGLISH docs always say taper the full term even if ssri to ssri. but the overnight taper I got from AMERICAN forums , and always overnight taper if ssri to ssri, no sickness or withdraw or start up. But remember to have enough of your old med left , has your GP will stop the old script till its time to take the new med. I am not telling anyone to try this its something I learned myself from people who take the meds not the people that give them. It works for me it may not work for you.
