I have been on SSRI's for a year now.
With depression I'm generally fatigued and sleep a bit to much which annoys me as I never do much! I missed my meds for two days and found that my energy level were much much better. In fact my depression seemed to be better all round! I was a little anxious but it seem worth it. Is it just me or do SSRI's make you tried? Or is it all in my head? ![]() Is there a better alternative to SSRI's? |

Some SSRIs do make you tired and/or sleepy. Check the side effects of the one you are taking and see if it is one.

They do.
But the energy you had when you missed a few doses isn't necessarily indicative of your normal energy. Excess energy (to the point of hypomania in some) is a symptom of early ad withdrawal. But that is also not to say that you wouldn't feel better without the medication; you very well might.

I was on 60 mgs of lexapro and it never made me tired. I am now on 225 mgs of efexor and that doesnt make me tired either. Everone reacts differently to meds.Best wishes

It depends on the SSRI and then on the dose and on the individual. For depression and energy I love Aplenzin and it's also weight neutral! Best of luck!!
