I hope the Wellbutrin off sets the weight gain! I do like Seroquel! Works just as good as ambien and docs are not reluctant to prescribe it even long term! I was drinking last nite so I only too one pill 50mg and I slept like a baby. Nite before I needed 2 pills 100mg.

I think next refil I'm going to ask doc for 100mg tabs instead of 50mg.

I'm liking it too! NO hangover effect! And does not slow me down at all next day!

Ok, I know I said I was only going to take 50 instead of 100mg of seroquel last nite cuz I also had some alcohol but the amount was very low. I ended up taking 100mg and woke up in 1 hr and took another 50mg. Total 150mg the max my doc allowed before my next visit. It worked pretty good. I wake up every 2 to 3 hours! And I'm able to fall back to sleep faster. I like seroquel! And still no hang over effect the next morning and it does not slow me down at all.

It was a miracle drug for me for a LONG time. The weight gain sucks though.

I am still liking it and not having any negative side effects so far. But I am taking a fairly low dose. I'm up to 150mg but tht is nothing compared to some of you folks!

I have had seroquel to take on a prn basis. However things have been so bad lately i just cant cope and am going to try and give it a shot taking it every day. This is what my doctor keeps telling me to do.

I only have 25mg dose. Will this help me with my bpd. I have been going through alot of anxiety and emotional trauma and pain. I only want to take it for a short term.

Hi there. Yes, gotta say that apart from the horrible weight gain, which I've found impossible to shift, Seroquel has helped a lot with sleep and compulsive/intrusive/obsessive thoughts during the night. I'm on 300mg time release at night time only. Hope that may help. HUGS.

I'm gonna call my doc and see if I can go over 150mg. I still have trouble falling asleep.

Some one asked if 25mg would be enough for BPD. Prolly not, but pdocs start at the lowest dose so you get use to it and gradually raise it to the desired level. Not sure how well it will work for bpd, but it's worth a try! Just follow your docs instructions. Mine gave me the ok to start at 50 and go up as need up to 150mg after that he wants me to talk to him. Just follow your docs instructions and you will be fine.

Thanks ive been taking 25mg for 4 days now it sends me to sleep but have been able to get up in the morning ok and not been groggy. Am not noticing a difference in how i feel and if any improvement to my mood, still feeling **** basically.

Is it too soon to feel any improvement, i am scared to be on a higher dose and was hoping that 25 mg would be enough to take for a short time to get me through a difficult patch. I am scared to go up dosage in case of difficultly coming off.

My understanding of Seroquel is it can be used as a PRN and instant release takes about an hour to start working. Not sure how the XR works other then it is a extended release. I actually like it better then Xanax for falling asleep. IMHO it beats benzo's for sleep hands down! Some people have claimed they use it instead of benzos PRN in smaller doses. I have not tried that yet but will try it. It's suppose to reduce anxiety too. It's gotta help folks with BPD in some way for some symptoms but don't expect a cure all. My guess is you will prolly need to up your dose, but please ask your doctor first. I've also read about BPD people being prescribed seroquel too with good results on another med forum I visit.

Well its been just over a week now of taking 25mg seroquel and ifor the last few days it is not knocking me out within the hour as it was . Its taking me a few hours to fall asleep.

I thought it would be to soon for the effects to wear off? I am due to see doctor on monday so maybe i need a higher dosage.

25, and 50 mg are considered very low doses. 100mg IMHO is the real starting point. 50 did nothing for me at all, I couldn't even sleep on 50. When I got to 100mg I noticed a improvement right away. The next morning I did feel a little foggy but it wore off in about 30 mns. Now I don't feel any foggy or hangover effects at all. I wake up totally refreshed and find I feel better thru out my day.

The only problem for me is this works too good! To good to be true for me. I would be devastated if I lost my insurance or my doc stopped prescribing me this! Honestly I feel more attached to Seroquel then my xanax!

Your doc will most likely increase the dose to 50, then 100, then may be more. They do it gradually because this is a anti-psychotic drug and want to make sure your not having even more problems with symptoms or side effects.

i went to my doctors on monday and he has kept me on 25mg for a few weeks, and then will look raising it.

It is not knocking me out as quick but it is sending me to sleep. my anxiety has decreased slightly.

You can contact AZ&Me and if you qualify, you can receive your Seroquel at absolutely no charge. I do.

Everybody is different so hard to say, ask your doc. He may say take half a 25mg, or skip a day, but u should talk to him first.

I never got headaches from seroquel though.
