I was on epilim for a short while, but much preferred Lamictal. It worked much better as a mood stabiliser for me. I only went off it as I changed pdocs and the new pdoc wouldnt lie about epilepsy and give me an authority script so I could get it cheaper like the old pdoc did (I dont blame him) and it got to the point that I couldnt afford it.

The problem with lamictal is that it does take a while to get up to a theraputic dose. It has to be increased and decreased very slowly. It is a good medication though. I am now on an antipsychotic that works even better for me but I would not hesitate to go on lamictal again if it became affordable and this AP stops working.

Thanks Supanova. I have Zyprexia as a prn AP which I don't like due to side effects but it is effective... What AP is working well for you?

Yes, Lamictal is much more effective than Depakote and is weight neutral. But for daily stability an AAP is necessary and for that Latuda is a miracle drug! Best of luck!
Thanks for this!

Glad to hear...Geodon is a great AAP, or mood stabilizer, and is the only other weight neutral one as well!
Thanks for this!
