All it did was make me sleepy. Wasn't on it very long. Little green pills.

I took it for a while a long time ago. What I remember most is I was either sleeping or eating. Gained weight and didn't stay on it long.

I took it and it caused me to have heart issues. Getting off of it was hard, I reacted badly even though we did a gradual decrease. My first hospitalization was due to the reactions coming off of it.

What kind of heart issues did it cause for you, if you don't mind my asking? I was on Elavil too, 30 years ago though. I do have heart a heart issue now that is usually not congenital but rather caused by something. No one knows what caused it though.

Yeah, I took it for a few weeks. The stuff gave me major side effects. Besides confusion and difficulty speaking and talking, I couldn't restrain myself (for example, I couldn't walk slowly - only very fast, I couldn't stop early enough so I walked into doors, I didn't slow down when turning so I tripped half the time), I couldn't think straight, and I got a side effect more commonly seen in antipsychotics: dyskinesia.
Took me a couple of weeks of high doses oxazepam (Serax) and akineton (used to treat side effects of antipsychotics) before I was alright again, and now, two months later, I still have difficulty concentrating, and talking sometimes.

Despite it being prescribed for migraines, it seemed to give me migraines! In fact, all I had to do was LICK the pill (even though it's just an antidepressant) and I'd get a massive migraine. It was like licking a toadstool for me.
