Anyone had any experience with Amitriptyline and Neurontin? I took all my meds with me to my Urology and Cardiology appointments today and while the cardio doc hasn't added or changed anything with my cholesterol meds until more blood work comes back for liver and renal counts because my cholesterol is still over 400 with Lipitor and Zetia combination, the Urologist prescribed Amitriptyline and Neurontin to try and manage my IC. He said to continue taking the Celexa 40mg like my PA prescribed and the Xanax and Ambien were fine but not to drive while taking them....well, I assured him that I don't take sleeping pills and then go for a drive but whatever.
anyway just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the two plus Celexa?

Hi there, I take Effexor and Neurontin and I've never felt better in my life! The off-label uses for Neurontin for mood and anxiety are SO under-advertised. It's really a shame, I think. Why get addicted to benzos if there is an alternative? I would shout NEURONTIN from the rooftops if I could.
Take care,
Okie

Thanks for the response okie......the amitriptyline and neurontin are supposed to be helping to manage my IC condition and of course the celexa 40mg for my every worsening depression and the Xanax to calm my anxiety and feeling like my entire inside of my body is one big raw nerve that is being continually rubbed wrong. The ambien of course to sleep. What disturbs me I guess is the intense fog that seems to not let me string a sentence together without sounding like i'm in the third dimension. My heart races my body feels like I'm barely moving when I know I'm actually walking and moving. I have to say that on all these meds and the runaway thoughts and feelings.......well, I can't or shouldn't say on here what they make me feel like doing. Thanks for letting me vent. Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin? Amitriptyine and Neurontin?
everyone of these emotions plus some that there are no graphics for (thankfully for all of you) applies to how I'm feeling and the thoughts racing around in my foggy used up brain.
Amitriptyine and Neurontin?

Hi there,
I'm sorry you are feeling so badly! I must say, years ago I was prescribed Celexa and it made me feel just as you're describing minus the racing thoughts. I have also tried 25 mg of Amitriptyline and just one dose made me so whacky the next morning I couldn't walk! It is really amazing how meds affect different people differently.

I'm sorry I can't think right now for the life of me what IC stands for, but I'm curious what your dose of Neurontin is and why you have to take Xanax too? My anxiety was totally unmanageable until I was started on Neurontin. I take 800 mg twice a day though too.

You may feel foggy right now, but I assure you that your brain is not used up! Getting the right combo of meds is difficult. I wish you all the best.
Okie

The neurontin was prescribed by the Urologist to help with nerve pain for Interstitial cystitis, same with the amitriptyline. Xanax was prescribed by the PA that I see at the doctors office to help me "chill out" according to him.
The neurontin is 300mg x 3 times a day. How long have you been taking neurontin?
I hope the fog clears soon because it is very hard to function like this.

Hi,
How long have you been taking the Neurontin? I know that when first prescribed it, I too, felt groggy before my body got used to it. I have been taking for 4 years now. I take for anxiety instead of benzos like Xanax. That's why I was curious why you take both.
