Ambien 10mg may have worked for me at one time, but no more - it's lost it's effectiveness with me, and I end up waking up in the middle of the night. Blahhhhh.

I really hope these people that are not careful don't ruin it for the rest of us....

I believe you can halve a pill....you could try that. But if neither of these things work, the go see your doctor.
Exactly. If you wait to get sleepy, then Ambien will take you on a trip you won't soon remember.

I saw stories on weight-loss forums where women couldn't figure out why they were gaining weight on 1000 calorie per day diets. Turns out they were taking Ambien and then waiting for it to kick in. Then they thought they were asleep, but would actually hog down on 4000-6000 calories. Eating whole cakes and stuff in their sleep. It was crazy.

One guy told a story about taking his Ambien and then brushing his teeth right before bed. He was just finishing up when he felt it kicking in and he thought, "Oh no ..." He woke up on the floor with chips all around him and having eaten an entire bag of Oreo cookies and a tub of humus.

Buying stuff on the Internet is common. Waking up in weird places (like the sand traps at the local golf course). Emailing people.

As a matter of fact, one guy actually wrote a bunch of comics about the nonsense he did while taking Ambien:

The Ambien Blog: The Ambien Walrus Collection

questions for ambien
Thanks for this!

Gosh, and the worst I've done, is not put my laptop down, before taking, and posted in a forum. Er, um, answered the phone once
I'm unintelligible on it. Twice, woken up, midway, to type a couple random notes, from dreams i was having. Pretty interesting notes, i felt cool, my subconscious woke me, for this?

My kids eat all the junk, deep down i may realize I'm not down with pb and j,, on ambien.

I tried Ambien and Lunesta. What a nightmare! (no pun intended!) I only took these for about a month, and bedtime at my house became a 3 ring circus for my poor husband. Apparently after I was in bed for awhile, I would get up and engage in all sorts of bizarre behavior. My husband would come looking for me, and the next morning when he told me all the crazy things I had done, I found it hard to believe him! One night I went out on the deck, at 2:00am, took my pajamas off and climbed on the patio table. It was dark out, so more than likely the neighbors didn't see anything, the problem was it was on a cold Wisconsin winter's night, with 2 feet of snow out there and a temperature of 10 degrees. Another thing I seemed to be fond of doing was take his keys, get his truck and drive around the neighborhood, and steal peoples potted plants and lawn ornaments! The most frequent behavior was going to the kitchen, pulling up a chair to the fridge, and take everything out and set it on the floor, then take the ketchup and mayo containers, dump the contents on the shelves and proceed to clean my fridge. He said I kept telling him to "help clean that refrigerator!" He became so afraid of the possibilities of what crazier and more dangerous things I could do,that he insisted I stop these drugs. Xanax and Ativan also had a similar effect on me, but the Ambien effect was out of this world. He also was afraid and worried after a neighbor down our street, who was also taking Ambien, got up and left his home in the middle of the night. His wife reported him missing when she realized how long he had been gone. A few days later, they found his body floating near the boat landing which was about a mile away. Somehow he walked down there and must have fallen in. Very tragic for our small town, and a rude awakening as to the possible side effects of Ambien. I'm sure it works great for many people, but I never fell into a sound sleep while taking it, and heaven only where I got the ideas for all the strange things I did, since I never could remember doing anything. It just wasn't a good fit for me!

I took ambien but it made me do things while sleeping. One night while "sleeping" I took a whole bunch of them and walked around the house, tried making sandwiches, I fell broke my nose. Mom called 911 because I wasn't making any sense. Ambulance took me to the hospital, had X-rays, got home, took a shower. Woke up 6 hours layer with no recollection of anything. Never took it again. Now I take trazadone.

Isn't it crazy? I found out a friends' friend got on his motorcycle while on ambien. Killed himself. That stuff is no joke .

Wow. Starting to think it should be banned here. My old doc who was the best one when it came to meds, said he never prescribed this one. When it was new it was handed out like candy.
