I know it has something in it that helps people focus. I have been on it 3 weeks ( i know it might not be helpful until 6-8 weeks) but I am really more unfocused now than before. I am also more irritable.

Will this pass? Does it get better? Is it worth it to continue even though I am extremely unfocused?

Thanks for this!

Are you bipolar? I ask because sometimes antidepressants can increase hypomania or mania.

I know a handful of people who have taken Wellbutrin (I have as well), and it seems to either really help them or it really didn't (i.e., bad side effects). Are you dealing with anxiety? If so, Wellbutrin is generally not advised for anxious people as it can increase anxiety, which is what it did for me. I also had a racing heartbeat plus some other nasty side effects.

I quit it before the good effects could kick in. The bad effects were too bad, and my doc said the increased anxiety it caused might not go away. Side effects can come from day one.

Really? Most of the docs I have seen have told me I should know within 2 weeks. Maybe I need a new doc!

Well documented on PC that PROZAC took 12 weeks for me . but that was a long time , it was my first med and I just stuck at it. I would say 4 of 5 weeks if new med, change over ssri to another could short/,

You can't compare wellbutrin to prozac. Prozac is an SSRI and you can usually not see positive effects until maybe 5-6 weeks. Wellbutrin is a different type of med (it's actually a psychostimulant), some effects come within days. It was made to replace amphetamines back in the days.

When it is used to stop smoking, you can cease smoking within a week, when used as a stimulant, it works from immediately to maybe two days. For it to work as an antidepressant, maybe 2-3 weeks. Time for it to treat anxiety, never, because it is not meant for that.
