they took me off risperidone because it raised my prolactin levels REALLY HIGH and put me on Zyprexa, but since I am having trouble getting it covered(ive put in several calls to pdoc to call insurance to get it overed but hasnt been of yet) but since its not covered right now I have none. so I am taking my risperidone again, thats better than taking n othing and going cold turkey, right? I dont know, it seemed like the best thing to do. I take 5mg of zyprexa and so I took 4mg of Risperidone. I figured that was close. I dont know, I just didnt want to go cold urkey.

That is really horrible waht they are doing.... The zyprexa equivalent to risperidone 4mg is about 20 mg, but I would suggest you stay at 5 for now.

Yeah they are being pains about it, probably because its the oen that works best and therefore is expensive.

tomorrow Ill just take 2mg of the risperidone = 5mg of zyprexa.

When my ins. co. balked at paying for some of my meds my pdoc wrote a letter & included scientific articles that stated the drugs were appropriate & effective for my condition (bp 1). The ins. co. then covered them.--Suzy
