So my doc wants me to take zoloft and abilify combined. Last time I took zoloft I was drinking so much on it I ended up in a delusional state. So now I dont know if it was the beer or the zoloft that did that to me. Ive found that some people have also felt delusional on it. Im just afraid to give it a shot again now that im clean. I really cant take another hospitalization again. I think that my msin problem is depression, and paranoid personality disorder. Im very in control right now and I dont wanna take a chance messing it up.

Wellll....if you were drinking while on the Zoloft, you can't really assess what was going on. Zoloft can be a weird AD, but it can also be immensely helpful. Do you know how much (dose) your doc wants to start you on?

I doubt you will find many people who have experienced psychosis with Zoloft or any of the AD's for that matter. They can sometimes trigger mania in people who are bi polar. Rare in my view. Most people with bi polar dx take an AD with a mood stabilizer and possibly an antipsychotic.

A few months ago I was on 200mg (high dose) of Zoloft. I'm bipolar and at that dose of Z I was a wreck. Severely agitated, strong mixed cycles, lots of "negative mania"...it was a really bad scene. I'm now on 125mg Z and it seems pretty helpful.
