Hi
I've just started taking seroquel in the last 10 days. I'm taking 25mg immediate release in the morning along with 800mg epilim and 60mg of cymbalta. At night I take 50mg of immediate and 50mg extended with another 800of epilim. Since starting the seroquel I've started feeling like all my muscles are weak and I can't understand things and say phrases I used to commonly say. Does anyone experience this or has and think I might get over it?

Hi Saulylee,

I've been on Seroquel for about six months now and if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom I am slightly off-balance and dizzy and yet even after waking up, I can fall back asleep in minutes.

Also I have very vivid dreams most intense, colorful, and sometimes sexual in nature. But before taking this medication I woke up often in the night driven mad by the insomnia and this has been a miracle drug for me to cure my insomnia. I take 100mg about half-an-hour before bedtime along with my Zyprexa and my Sinequan... I'm only taking the Seroquel for sleep - the Zyprexa takes care of my psychotic symptoms well.

I have not experienced difficulty in speaking or thinking clearly cause if I get up at night like even once only the dizzyness happens but by morning I awake refreshed and alert.

Keep taking this medication for a few weeks to see how your body adjusts to it as a lot of psych meds take time to work properly. Take Care.

Hi dmhobbit

Since starting the seroquel I can see the kids on to the bus at the front door after making them breakfast and lunch and then be asleep again in five minutes and could sleep all day. I too have very vivid dreams now. Thanks for letting me know your experiences

I started out on 800mg for insomnia and anxiety by way of a quack doctor. It almost killed me and I have been slowly titrating down for the last 5 years. I am not quite off and having bad side effects. My doctor just says to get off of it in 6 months. But, it is really hard. I am having a really hard time with this drug.

I've been on seroquel since 2004 (5?) or so. My highest dose was at 800mgs and that was to combat a serious psychotic period. Of course, the side effects were too much to bear so as I got better, my pdoc decreased my dose. Currently, I'm on 400 mgs at bedtime and it helps me stay asleep but I've adjusted to it so I don't have problems with too much sedation. But, I also take Latuda and some other meds that might be helping with that issue. For me, the seroquel has been a very effective med but I've always had to have another AP with it. The seroquel-Latuda combo has been the best because the Latuda seems to counteract any sedation I might get from the seroquel. But, I've heard of people who just can't tolerate seroquel. One of my friends took 25 mgs, fell asleep on her toilet and busted her head on her tub. Seroquel was not a good med for her. I do know that my body has gotten use to the seroquel over the years because at first it did cause me sedation....
