Well if you are feeling really good it is probably more likely then when you are feeling horrible. Maybe you are just forgetful. I have such a pattern down that I rarely miss a dose. But in the past I have. Or I can't remember if I took them or not this morning. Missing doses can mess you up especially with Effexor.
Do you have a cell phone? Set a reminder alarm.

I don't have a sense of routine with anything and med times are hard. For me, nights did work out better and after a loooong while it became natural and I didn't have to THINK about it all the time. I'm not normal, but I managed making a routine just because of time passing, longer than for a normal person to create a habit.
Now I have a pet that needs medicating too and I thought it would be easy to just merge our med times.... Wrong! I forgot him once. ![]() Hang in there.

Set an alarm on your phone. The more annoying the better.

I've found that if I keep my pills somewhere I am likely to see them, like next to my laptop, it offers a jolt to my memory. Also like the others have mentioned an alarm on your phone or something else that you tend to keep with you. |

Keep them next to your toothbrush is another idea. If you still forget parse them out into daily doses. They are next to my coffee which is probably my favorite ritual of the day and I can take them while the water heats up. The less I have to think about it the more likely I will follow through. I'm supposed to take one in the afternoon and I always forget. I'm a total rebel when it comes to alarms... Just don't like anything telling me what to do

I take a med 3 X a day. I usually forget the mid day dose. My phone will only set one alarm at a time, so I tend to use it for reminders of when I am almost done with an appointment.

I set out my evening meds on my nightstand in the morning. As far as morning meds, it is part of my routine to take them shortly after making coffee. Now wait a minute, I can't remember if I did that this morning or not! I don't think so. I'm going to take them right now. Glad I saw this thread b/c otherwise I think I would have quite possibly not taken the morning meds today!

Not necessarily true. My husband has a horrible time remembering his meds, and trust me, he feels VERY ill a good deal of the time. His memory is shot though from many, many years of (you guessed it) taking very strong meds for various medical conditions. It gets funny around our house when the phone and iPad alarms for meds start going off. We take it as a challenge to find the most obnoxious alarm settings to annoy our sons
![]() When I am in really bad shape, my memory and concentration suffer also, so remembering to take meds can become a challenge. And then there is remembering to take noon meds at work when I don't really stop for a lunch break. I get busy with students or grading or meetings, and no matter how ill I am feeling, the last thing on my mind is taking meds. I often need something to prompt me. Love those alarms though. They really do help. |

Well yeah waiting for those benzo's and what else do you have to do in there. Or dod they cut you off benzo's in hospital. I thought it was after you got out they cut you off.

I got a few stories myself. There is more than one way to go through withdrawal.
When I was a kid I had a good friend who was totally fine until he got to be a teenager, then he got real schizophrenic. They put him in the psyche ward and got him all drugged up on AP's. He didn't want to take them but in there they made sure he swallowed them. We used to sneak pot in to him. When he got out they set him up with a little apartment and food stamps and on meds he would do pretty good. Off meds major psychosis. He didn't want to take them but he was. Then me and my friends would come over to his apartment and tell him....there is nothing wrong with you, you don't need those meds, screw those doctors. All you really need is us. We are your friends. And here have a toke of this joint, and have a pull off this whiskey bottle. He kept getting worse and worse over the years but when he was in an AIS home he did pretty good on meds. I left town but last I heard he was walking the streets homeless and talking to trees. I know he wasn't on meds because he hated taking them. Knowing him he probably busted out of the home. I was one of his best friends and using buddies but I didn't know how to help him. And he kept freaking me out with his psychosis and the government and CIA had cameras all over watching him. Actually some of the drugs we did helped him. Pot did help him and so did codeine. I haven't thought about him in a long time.
