Starting it today and switching from Zyprexa, hoping to be less groggy and stop gaining weight! I gained 15lbs on Zyprexa and I'm hoping to lose it. If you were on Zyprexa were you able to lose weight? And if you've taken Geodon, what was it like?
I'm feeling fairly optimistic, just hoping my tiredness will go away above all else! I've been struggling to sleep less than 10+hours and I'm in college and I can't afford to keep sleeping so much and still keep up with coursework!

i gained sixty pounds via various meds and it didnt go away just because i stopped taking them. my daughter gained 25 pounds on meds in a month and she stopped taking them and it did go away so i guess it is a toss of a coin.
i took geodon for over a year, almost two i dont know. it made me very sleepy at first. knocked me out cold within 20 minutes so i took it at night. i was able to wake up at an appropriate time, with no risidual tiredness. i had to get off of it because of tartive diskenisia though. first i noticed i was doing a tongue thrust about six months in. i lowed the dose to 60 and it went away. what i didnt notice though was i had this thing with my pinkie going on. it started sticking up in the air like people do when they drink a tiny tea cup. it wasnt obvious at first but it got worse and people started commenting on it. it was a joke at work. i thought it was a nervous tick. then my forefinger got into it and i was doing the sign for "i love you" all the time. people wre always pointing it out. it was really embarrasing. then i hurt myself and had to go to the dr on workmans comp. he noticed my splayed fingers. i asked what it was and he explained it was neurological. asked me how long it had been going on and i realized it had been about a year since i was on geodon boom, TD i realize now i just cant take APs i hope it works for you. i was already on topamax,,,,, which helped me lose 35 pounds of the med weight...but also knocked out much of my cycling but being on the geodon with it made it so i didnt cycle at all. good luck |
