Hi there, just started on prozac today. Wondering if it made anyone else feel sick when ever they ate some thing. Thanks for all replies. If you have anything else to add about taking prozac, that would be helpful as well and much appreciated.

Prozac is a potent SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake Inhibitor) medication and Trazodone has some more minor reuptake of serotonin so maybe if the Prozac is a new med for you your doc can start you on a lower dose. Maybe Prozac is just not right for you either. It could be either case. Please let your doc know. I have been on Prozac and I had no problems with it making me sick so maybe it is not the med for you. Take care.

hi-
20mg's is a pretty good dose to start with. i am so sensitive i tried 5mg to start. which is a pediatric does. my doc said he had patients titrate-up from 1mg (liquid) up to very high doses over several weeks. sideblinded gives you good advice. i'd talk to your doc about starting on a lower dose. prozac is a very 'forgiving' med in regards to dosing w/it's long half-life. you can 'play' w/it a bit as compared to other meds. also, it is strong for many people. there is plenty of info on 'low dose' prozac (5 to 10mg) helping people. google it and see. speak with your doc about all this. good luck. I thought I had food poisoning...it was awful. I could not tolerate it, and I started at a low dose. (I have a very sensitive stomach, tho.) I have a friend who takes prozac (not sure of the dose) who felt a bit nauseated for about the first week, and then she felt better after that.
