Hmm. What info would you like?
I just got a refill of mine actually. I'm not sure how long I've been on it though... maybe 6 months? The side of the bottle doesn't have much info though: May cause drowsiness. Alcohol may intensify this effect. Use care when operating a car or Dangerous Machinery. May Cause Dizziness Do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking this medicine. Warning: Do not use if you are pregnant, suspect that you are pregnant, or while breastfeeding. Check with you doctor or pharmacist. That being the list of side effects I suppose. I have not experienced anything like that, however, if I am really tired and fall asleep early without taking it, I have crazy borderline nightmare-ish dreams. The dreams are always intense and can be very emotional... and sometimes I have a hard time getting up in the morning because I'm still thinking about them. But to avoid this... you just need to remember to take it. Price wise, we have some health insurance, but I believe we paid about $70 for 60 tablets (20mg x2 each night). So the price may be a little steeper then you want to pay each night... (I'm not the one paying for it though... so I guess I have less of an opinion). The tablets themselves are easy to take. They're white in color and circular. I now have 20 mg tablets which are a little bigger (but certainly not intimidating) but I also had 10 mg tablets at first which where quite small. I don't notice any harsh taste associated with it, which is especially appreciated when I'm taking the rest of my night meds and it begins to dissolve on my tongue. As for the effects of the medicine itself, it's harder to say. I've been on several anti-depressants including Prozac and Cymbolta before this one. The way that anti-depressants work, is much harder to determine and compare though. I remember not feeling much effect from prozac. But with cymbolta, it was good at first and helped me forget about my stress, however, it caused problems for me to actually deal with my stressors. Lexapro seems to be the best of both worlds in that way. My mom always says she feels that I'm happier, upset less easily, and more relaxed on it. But again, direct effects are much less noticable, unless you forget to take it or something. One time when my mom and I had some miscommunication about lexapro, I stopped taking it for like 3 or 4 days. I remember feeling out of control like I was going to snap at any moment, feeling upset and emotional but not knowing why, and feeling especially irritable. That's all I can think of right now. But I hope that helps and if you need any other answers, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer (or ask my mom who is a family practice doctor and generally knows more than I do about it). |

Try WebMD. Go to the A-Z Guides. You'll get a wealth of info!
Also good about that site is that you can look up drugs by name or by condition. Hope this helps!! ECHOES ![]() |
