I am on a pill treatment consisting of olanzapine + fluoxetine, and my psychiatrist told me the treatment lasts up to 12 weeks. I'm starting week 2 and so far it's making me really tired and drowsy. It keeps me in bed the whole day. I did some research and the problem is the drug called olanzapine, an anti-psychotic, it makes people extremely tired, both mentally and physically.
Can there be another alternative to the drug, one that doesn't cause such tiredness? If so what is it called? I am going to ask this to my psych. too but I would like to know beforehand so I can suggest it to him. Thanks.

What are you taking the fluoxetine/olanzapine combo for? If you provide that information, it will be easier to suggest alternatives.

Age? Gender? Diagnosis? Some history? would be very helpful. then people who are in or have been in similar situations can comment.
