Hi Guys

background:
My new pdoc diagnosed me with generalized anxiety disorder but my older ones thought I had skizo-affective disorder.
My new pdoc has had me reducing risperidone over the last few months down from 5mg (in 1mg drops) till 2 weeks ago where I stopped taking it.
I also have been taking 20mg esitalopram since the new pdoc prescribed it as before, for many years, I was on citalopram (and risperidone).

Current condition:
Since coming off my medication my head feels very spaced out and I constantly feel nauseous, incredibly tired like I am about to fall asleep and very anxious.
Whenever I go outside I can barely function as the sound, movements, temperatures all overcome my senses. ( I believe this is the GAD, however just before coming off the 1mg I did not experience this to this degree)

Advice request:
Since it has been 2 weeks and I feel like I'm going through some nasty withdrawal is it worth re-introducing 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg of risperidone to abate the symptoms? or should I just soldier on?

Thanks guys

You should call your doctor and tell them what you are experiencing. I recently reduced my risperidone from 1 mg daily to .25, and I didn't experience the symptoms you are having, but my thoughts kind of ran away for the first few days after each dose reduction. Now its fine.

Maybe your doctor can either get you back on a very low dose for a while or give you something else to ease your symptoms.
