i only have 2 brintellix pills left and can't do anything about it until Tuesday at the earliest. i took half a pill for a week and started taking a full pill today. But i didn't realize i had barely any pills left at the time or that the psychiatrist place wasn't open today or that Monday is a holiday so it's not open then either.

Should i go back to half a pill every morning until Tuesday or continue taking a full pill for Saturday and Sunday and go Monday with no medication?

I would contact your pharmacist for three reasons, 1. to see if they actually can be split safely to get an actual half the dose out of them if that is the route you want to go, 2. they may recommend taking the full dose Sat & Sun and then skipping Monday as you mention instead and are better qualified/informed to help you with this decision, and 3. they may have another alternative for you to get through the holiday.

Thanks. They must be able to be split safely because my psychiatrist told me to take half a pill for the first week and then a full pill for the second week. The pharmacy doesn't have any of this medication so i have to wait until Tuesday to get more samples. So i call the pharmacy to see if it is a big deal to skip a day? And if it is a big deal to skip a day i should just take half a pill instead until Tuesday?

Fresia makes a good point. Sometimes they'll give you a pill but it depends on the pharmacy and if you've had the prescription for long but yes the pharmacy is a good place to start!

I just read the comment you just posted and see that you're taking samples. So probably going to have to wait for doc for more meds. I can't tell you what to do but if it were me I would follow the pharmacists advice or I would probably cut the pills in half if you were advised that was ok. I didn't think you could cut the brintellix, I got a 5mg sample from the doc and it says on it that you shouldn't split them, crush them or chew them but maybe yours is a different form?

Thanks for the help everyone. The psychiatrist place called my psychiatrist and we talked to her and she said to take half a pill until Tuesday. i felt bad that she got called at like 8:00 at night like that. But it is all set now, thanks everyone.
