Hi Folks!
I want to emphasize that what I am doing is working for me-but please don't take this as a reccomendation. Your doc should always know about any changes you plan to make. The bad stuff-seroquel left me with diabetes type 2 and my doc would still not take me off of it. I filed a complaint and he is not my doc anymore. Abillify-took about four days to really mess me up. Stopped taking it. Wellbutrin took about 48 hours. (not kidding) The good stuff. These are the only meds I've ever had problems with. I am one of those lucky people that do not suffer from side effects (except for the three mentioned above.) I've been on meds for two decades and decided to try something radical. I cut my dosage down considerably and feel better than I have in years. They reccomend three doses a day of most of my phych meds, but now I only take them once or twice a day. The only exception is my nightmare med because if I don't take it I get the PTSD dreams. I feel clear. I've been able to fight off two impending depressions. I have not been manic at all. I sleep better. I can think better-not so fuzzy. I am writing again. My rage is much more managable. I am able to feel my feelings and emotions. I haven't had a panic attack in ages. Again, I emphasize that this is working for me. Please don't try this on your own. We all handle our medication in differant ways, and our bodies and minds react differantly. |

Hi T&S. I hope the taper-down works really well for you. Funny, I've been tapering my ssri dosage down to where I'm almost not taking any (I've been on ssri's for decades). I've been feeling much, much better. I think I'm learning that at different times in our lives we need different meds (or none).
