Dear all,

Please reply as I have just bought 2 packets of an atypical antipsychotic called Sertindole and, by mistake, while I was sitting in the bus and reading a book on my way to home, I put the nylon bag which contains the 2 packets near the bus motor, I found out after an hour and the bag was really hot!

Will this affect the medication? I am freaking out as I paid a lot of money and I really need the medication efficacy...

Your first step? Talk to your pharmacist and see what he or she recommends.
Your next step should be a call to your health insurance company or HMO, who may be able to replace your medication, or reimburse you for a replacement prescription.

Finally, if your pharmacy and insurance company are unable to help you, contact the manufacturer. According to drugmaker Abbott Laboratories' consumer hotline, it's possible -- not guaranteed however -- that Abbott and other drug makers may be able to offer some form of reimbursement for heat-damaged medications.

Keep Serdolect in a cool dry place where the
temperature stays below 25°C.

25 degress Celsius = 77 degrees Fahrenheit. That doesn't mean higher than 77 degrees will ruin it. I would guess that it didn't get any hotter than 110 degrees F based on where you said it was. Whether that amount of heat would ruin it I don't know. Google doesn't say much.

I would call the pharmacy and even the manufacturer to see if that would harm it.
