I started buspar today. I am supposed to take 15mg two times a day. A total of 30mg per day.
After 2 weeks i up it to 1.5 pills. Each pill is 15 mgs. So a total of 22.5mg? Does this sound right? Does anyone remember what they started on?

I read online a usual starting dose is 15mg per day. Idk how accurate that is but i do know i am taking double that.

I'm sorry you've not received any replies to this Thread, InTheProcess. I've never taken this medication. So I can't comment. Hopefully some other PC members who are taking, or have taken, Buspar, will yet see your post & offer their comments.
Thanks for this!

I took it years ago, but I don't remember how much. It made me very dizzy, so I had to stop.

Back then I was still working outside of home and I would take it in the morning. After about 15 minutes I'd be too dizzy to drive. I would just sit and wait for the room to stop spinning so I could go to work.

I take two pills a day. 15 mgs each.
Started at one half twice a day for one week.
I've been on it for about two months. Some days I get a little dizzy buzz about an hour after I take a pill, but it passes.

I started on 45 mg per day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, one at bedtime.

Let's put it this way, I'm sleeping at night instead of worrying myself until 4 or 5 in the morning.

The very first dose I took made me dizzy, but as soon as I swallowed one bite of breakfast the dizziness went away. Now I take each dose with a meal.

I took it almost 20 years ago & it did absolutely NOTHING for me...didn't help with the anxiety....it was like taking a sugar pill....but I always have problems with meds anyway......either they don't work & it takes a really high dose to even feel any effect or I have terrible side effects on way lower than normal doses & I've had some really bad side effects like waking up the next morning with stiff joints so I couldn't even sit up in bed....other reactions took longer to develop but most of the time my pdoc had to put me in the hospital any time he wanted to try a new med or raise a dose of something......or like I said, there were times when the med had no effect at all on me.

Hope you can get to a good place with it because it's better than getting onto the other more addicting meds for anxiety.....taking it with food should help with the dizziness.
