Hi there everyone,

I was hoping someone might be able to help. I have been on seroquel for around 6 months now and for the last 3 months my libido has been very low. I have no interest in sex. It's like I can't be bothered with the hassle of it. Is this connected with taking seroquel?
Many thanks

YES........ it is possible, for most antidepressants have side effects on the old libido, not to mention the fact that depression its self can rob one from the mere pleasure of sex.

I was informed by a doctor that adding Wellbutrin to the mix could help with the sexual side effects caused by antidepressants, so please have a talk with your own doctor.

Seroquel is not an antidepressant, and usually does not have this problem. However I have seen it with higher doses, above 400 mg/day, and is likely due to dopamine blockade. A little wellbutrin may help.

I am sorry (i think - not for sure), but I just have to ask, for I was blown away when I read the last three suggestion on your list for counteracting sexual dysfunction due to medicine.

But................. What doctor would ever recommend pot and cocaine as a remedy to sexual problems?

... asking for I am confused by your answer and yet I would like to hear your side of the story.

Thanks...

Hmm - well that is not so good and I understand your frustration, for I have the drive - it is the function that is missing.
DARN DEPRESSION MEDICINES! - helps in one area but take from another...... seroquel and sex???

What we really need is a medicine that will increase our changes of being able finish with that big BANG at the end.
Any ideals - Any one?

You asked what works, and I told you. I am not making it a personal recommendation, not am I anyone's doctor here. They would not recommend it because it is illegal, not because it doesn't work. People use those substances all the time to help with sexual performance.

I understand.................... but I am asking for legal ways that work - no drugs or porn please.

NOW... with that said
Any ideals for getting that good old BANG back that depression medicine can often robs of us?

LOL...Ok I 'll be good. Trazadone may help if you don't fall asleep first. Cialis or the other ED meds can work quite well for women too, but insurance won't cover it for women so ask for samples. Levitra seems to have the least amt of headache SE's.
