Hi all BP 2 gad and bpd . Old diagnosis now I have severe sleep apnea and when I can't sleep on machine I am sever narcoleptic in daytime. Currently seeing phyc dr. Take Xanax up to 3 fly as needed (never take that many ever) maybe 1\2 a pill a day or less . And neurotin 300mg 3x dly I had to quit zoloft. It almost killed me. I had the electric like blinks with white noise and feeling faint and weak and couldn't see. So question is what can I take in the place of zoloft . Looking for a stimulant to get me thru daytime and such. Have the sleep paralysis thing happening and I am so embarrassed I hate to be around people cause it's uncontrollable and I say and do all sorts of crap. Thanks for ur help

Welcome to PC.

I am not familiar with the narcolepsy drugs like neurotin. It would be pretty rare that you would be prescribed and amphetamine but maybe.

You might want to consider an SSNRI to replace Zoloft. They are much more stimulating. They are Effexor, Pristiq, Cymbalta, and Fetzima. There is also Wellbutrin which is very stimulating and in its own class. They act on nor epinephrine which is the bodies natural speed.

Do you know if the anxiety that Cymbalta initially causes wears off in a few days? Thanks.

I am not sure. it is a highly individualized thing. I have never gotten anxiety from the SSNRI's. I am lucky and side effects always go away for me within a couple of weeks. I have gotten hypo manic on them but not anxiety. I hope it goes away for you. Usually things balance out as your body gets used to it.
