Hi there!
I have a puzzling question that just doesn't seem to be adding up! I have recently had my lithium increased from 750mg to 1200mg which, I believe, is quite a jump. The good news is that it shot me right out of the depression I was experiencing. However, I appear to be in something that is resembling a hypomanic state. In a week, I have slept a total of 3 hours and not feeling tired in the least bit. I am constantly doing something; going out, cleaning, going to placement, school & talking a mile a minute and I am experiencing loss of contact with reality every so often which is becoming troubling. ![]() I am confused about this because I always understood that lithium is particularly helpful in treating mania! I do not have any thyroid problems, but why could this be happening? I had my thyroid tested so that can't better account for these moods. So is this even possible?? I admit, I haven't taken my seroquel in a week either...but I thought lithium would prevent anything resembling mania at all! Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks! ![]()
