My psychiatrist just prescribed me these medications and I'm kind of scared about taking them all. I have always refused medications, but I'm to the point I'll try anything to stop this storm. I have BPD and some other junk. I am taking Risperidone for my rage, irritability and psychotic symptoms. Citalopram for my depression and anxiety. Topiramate for my binge eating. Does anyone have any experience with these medications? I know I don't HAVE to take these, but trust me... I HAVE to TRY to take these .

Hello! Please do not start taking all of these in one day. Please stagger them by ~2 or 3 days. This is so if you have a reaction to one, they know which one caused it...

I hope they work!

Thank you. That's great advice. I didn't even think about that.

I'm kinda thinking about passing on Risperidone. Too many negative comments on weight gain and I already have a weight issue from binge eating.

For what it's worth, I've been on risperidone for years, and never gained any weight on it. It did cause me to lactate however.

If you use food(binge) to comfort yourself Citalopram alone may do the trick for you. IMHO, 3 meds all at once is crazy...but I am no doctor
P.S. it also works with anger and rage issues, at least for me.....

Risperdone works great for a bunch of things (similar to you) for me. However, I gained a lot of weight on it. I'm currently being weaned off by a new Pdoc. I'm also on topamax for mood stabilization and binge eating. It has helped some with my appetite, but it's mostly to treat my bipolar. I'm at 300mg topamax and 2mg risperdone right now.
