Hi all. I have GAD and MDD. Currently on 300 mg of Welly and 40 mg of Fetzima. I went Lexapro cold turkey when I got on the Fetzima which is quickly realizing was a huge mistake. I have the zapped brain and tingling fingers, etc.

My question is this: I want to start taking the Lex again to wean myself off properly. The issue is that I can't find any documentation on Lexapro/Fetzima interactions.

Anyone have any input? This is my first post on the board and your opinions are super appreciated.

I am not sure if this is the source doctors use or not.

Medscape: Medscape Access

Quote:
escitalopram + levomilnacipran
escitalopram and levomilnacipran both increase serotonin levels. High likelihood serious or life-threatening interaction. Contraindicated unless benefits outweigh risks and no alternatives available.
The risk would be too much serotonin and serotonin syndrome. According to this I wouldn't take both together. I am not sure though because I have taken Effexor and Celexa at the same time for a long time and it was pretty effective. That is basically the same as Fetzima and Lexapro.

Here is what I get for Effexor and Celexa

Quote:
citalopram + venlafaxine
citalopram and venlafaxine both increase serotonin levels. Possible serious or life-threatening interaction. Monitor closely. Use alternatives if available. Combination may increase risk of serotonin syndrome or neuroleptic malignant syndrome-like reactions.
I took them both together for a long time and they worked good with no problems.

You might want to read this before trying it. And ask your psychiatrist.
