I have been on epilim since mid may 2014 and I guess it's helped a bit with making my mood more stable and enabling me to sit with bad feelings and emotions instead of acting on bad impulses in the heat of the moment. But it doesn't help me with sleep and the local psych team are surprised about this.. our private psychiatrist is the one that prescribed it to us..
I was on 1000mg but a few days ago this was increased to 1500mg as we are all really struggling right now. How have you found this med? Is the dose we are now on considered to be high or can it still be increased if needed and if it is increased would it even do anything more? Sorry I know we should be talking to the prescribing psychiatrist about this but he barely see's us for 5 mins let alone explains anything! Thanks Cady

it's also known as sodium valproate and used to help treat epilepsy but it's a mood stabilizer.
