Took olanzapine 2.5mg for ~4 weeks. 1 month after stopping, the effects are at their strongest point. Immediately after stopping, it seemed they would slowly wear off, as they began by fading somewhat over the first week after stopping, then there was a gradual increase in the effects (head block, no ability to think creatively, etc), and the effects have continually strengthened over the last week or so to the point where they are now much stronger than they've been.
Is there anyone who took olanzapine for a similar time period at a similar dose who can explain their experience of how long it took to lose the effects (if they did wear off)? |

Hi elizscots
I believe you are speaking about Zyprexa here. I have been on some of the meds in the past in this same drug class but not actually on Zyprexa. It sounds like your withdrawal brought on many side effects. Sometimes original symptoms come back even stronger during withdrawal. I hope that you were gradually weaned off of this med. I hope someone comes along and can share a similar experience. It may just be an individual response to stopping it. Best wishes |

The only possible side effect I had from going off it last year (after 3 1/2 years on it) was possibly nausea for a few days, and I may have just had the flu, though I was also going on Abilify at the time, so it could've been that as well. No worries here, but everyone is different.
