I'm struggling with bad depression and invasive thoughts. I've been on 60 mg latuda for two weeks now and not much of a change I was hoping some of you guys could let me know how long it took for your anti psychotic to work

It took 3 months for Abilify to work for me but I doubt it will take anywhere near that long for you. Good luck.

I noticed a change with Seroquel within the first week.

When I tried Latuda, I had a very bad reaction and my p-doc had me stop it after just a couple of days.

My Geodon is an atypical antipsychotic and it took about a month to kick in.

When I first started I felt something within a couple of days, though symptoms were still there and my dose had to be graduated up quite a bit before they were all gone.

Generally 4-8 weeks, dependent on the person.

For me Risperidone took about 2-5 days. Seroquel, about an hour.

If you are taking an atypical antipsychotic, some can kick in with the very first dose depending on what you're taking it for. I have used Geodon on/off and it always works on the very first dose for me. My doctor says it typically works right away for controlling obsessive/repetitive thoughts.

I just restarted abilify for the third or fourth time. Each time I have noticed it helping within 2 days. Then gets better for awhile longer.

Most atypical anti-psychotics start working within a few days because they don't need to build up in your system like an SSRI, that's why psychiatric hospitals love them, they work fast.

If there is no change whatsoever, not even a little bit, within weeks, then it's simply not working.

Latuda needs to be taken with 350 calories, are you doing that?
