I am not an anti psychiatry person, earlier on when first diagnosed, I was very anti docs and medicine...I believe that the pills are the lesser of two evils. I can see more clearly through years of experience. Not here to be saved or to save anyone, hoping for upbeat discussions if possible.
Thanks for this!

I, too have come to the conclusion that meds are the lesser of two evils. I can't exist without them. I'm glad somebody out there is still working on better ones.

I hear ya, for the first decade or so of being unwell, I was anti meds and docs, I used them to shift my anger from my sense of self. I also used god as an emotional punching bag also.

It's natural to be angry and reject/deny your treatment, it can be a sense of personal weakness or inferiority, that you can't cope or your some out of controller danger.

This article (and links therein) may be relevant to this discussion:

Peter Gotzsche, founder of the Cochrane Collaboration, visits Australia to talk about dangers of prescription drugs

Some of its details are specific to Australia but I think that it raises some interesting points.
