I am looking for feedback for anyone who has noticed a change in their behavior or other side effects, particularly difficulty in normal cognitive functioning, i.e., difficulty "finding words", abnormal speed of thought processes, etc. I noticed this while taking Topirmate and stopped it myself, then called my doctor and advised him. I feel much better, more like myself, less tense, better recall and writing abilities. I am now doing research for the other medicines I take such as Symbicort, which has less side effects than Advair did, but am still looking for a more benign, albeit effective medicines to treat my COPD. I have read these kinds of medicines also affect cognitive abilities and I need all cylinders up and running, void of misfires, especially for school work.

Be careful Creole about discontinuing meds without a doctor's course of action unless you are in an emergency situation. Some meds have severe side affects if you do not taper off them.
